In Memory of our past fellow LLS board friends!

Re: In Memory of our past fellow LLS board friends!

I think this a lovely gesture. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.

We might also mention Joan Gray here too.

I agree about the sadness, and this change has brought alot of my grief about my Mom bubbling back to the surface. The old grief board seemed to evolve, and so did I-but I still needed the forums to feel a connection to her. Like her voice was still out there. Now I have to find it again.

I can't believe how sad this has made me. I definately took a few leaps backwards.

I agree Stacey.  Losing the old board feels like yet another loss...it's sad to me too.

Nicole what a great thread and beautiful tribute to those we have lost.  What a great thing to remember them and also make this new board seem a little more like "home".

In memory of Zach.  He was such an inspiration to me when I first came to the boards.  I will never forget his love of life and of his family and friends (and of course his beloved Jeep).

Re: In Memory of our past fellow LLS board friends!

When my husband, Jim Martin first came to the LLS boards in June '05 we found much comfort and info from many of you.  There were only a few that were self serving, but it's that way anywhere you go, right?!  I visit here fairly often to keep my prayer journal up to date with requests!  Once you've walked this road, it is hard to forget the many others traveling it also.

Jim was dx'd with AML M7, June '05, having never been ill.  We spent the summer at MDA hanging on and receiving chemo along with about 78 transfusion (blood and platelets). Sept '05 his sister donated cells for the SCT.  He had another year of fairly good health tainted with effects of the SCT.  Jim relapsed Nov. '06 and went on to Heaven January 6, 2007.  He was an amazing, gentle, kind, soft spoken, hard working, and a gentleman that loved God most of all, his family and everyone he came in contact with.  What a legacy to pass on.  He hardly EVER complained but clung to his faith in Jesus to carry him thru.  We were married for 38 years.

Thank you to all who were so helpful and comforting during our struggle with this disease.  Many of you were and still are an inspiration I'll never forget.   I pray you will be blessed beyond measure!

grace & peace,  melanie
