Hi TNT Particpants,
Thank you for supporting such an important cause. As is training for a marathon, triathalon or century ride isn't difficult enough, fundraising is an extra component that makes participation difficult. If you are having trouble soliciting friends and family for donations each time you participate in an event, you may want to check out the Insider Pages Fundraiser program.
Instead of donating money, your supporters can contribute by writing reviews of local businesses on insiderpages.com. For each review written, Insider Pages will donate up to $1.50 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. That's all there is to it. There are no costs to anyone, no obligations and no soliciting donations.
We have had a great deal of participation from Team in Training participants, several of whom who have raised thousands of dollars in just 3 weeks. We look forward to helping more Team in Training participants reach their fundraising goal and support research for Leukemia and Lymphoma.

I actually did this. I'm in the middle of my 3-week period right now. It's a great idea, if you can get people to participate. I sent out emails to everyone in my address book, dropped off flyers to every house (literally) in our subdivision and so far I have only had 4 other people besides me participate. I think the problem is the time commitment. Time is often in as much demand (and short supply) as money, so it may be difficult for many. So far I have raised $65.50, which isn't bad at all...but FAR short of what I was hoping to raise.
If anyone reading this wants to take a look at this in action (and post a review or two!), please go to: http://www.insiderpages.com/fundraisers/Team-in-Training-CA-Caudill-0812
I did this last year and only raised about $28, but I just did it on my own when I thought of some place to review. I didn't really put a lot of effort into it.
This year I decided to try it again, asking other people to help this time. Then I found out you can get a refurbished iPod Shuffle for $39 at apple.com, so I used that as an incentive. I told them the person to get the most money for the reviews gets a free iPod Shuffle.
I'm just now hitting the third week and have raised $146.50. Making it a contest has done wonders. And the person that is in the lead told me if they do wind up winning, that they want to donate the cost of the iPod back to me.
It's a great fundraiser but you have to ask for help and a little bribery never hurts either.
Here's my link if you want to get in the running for the free iPod

This looks like an awesome idea for everyone to try! However I just signed up to do this as well and they are not excepting appilications at this time do to the popularity of the program. After you submit your application a message pops up that states they will hold the application for 90 days and inform you via email if they are excepting your participation.
Thanks for the great idea though!
Cheers Jennifer
Still full. I tried as well hoping something had changed as it sounded like a good idea. I am always doing reviews for Trip Advisor and Travel sites....so I thought this would be easy.
I signed up for this, and was happily surprised when it came through!! If anyone here wants to see what it looks like, or to post a few reviews
