Marathon in Orlando FL ! That's Right It's The Disney World Marathon !!! Who is Going ? Where are you from?

Hi everybody,

*It's Ken again and it is my favorite time of year, winter season. This year with all the cute backs at my job I did not think I was going to make it, But I am so very happy to say I will be running my forth or Fifth Disney World Marathon they are all sort of running together. I am from Melbourne Fl. ( The Space Coast ) about 1 hour east of Disney World so this is my home town run. It is so much fun, thousands of purple shirts. On the half Marathon me and my friends will be running from place to place on the course looking and cheering for purple people from all over the USA, Canada, and even Puerto Rico! *

SO WHO IS RUNNING DISNEY AND WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

Is this your first time at Disney or your 16th?

WHY DID YOU JOIN TEAM IN TRAIN ?

LETS GET LOAD AND RAISE SOME MONEY TO FIND THIS CURE AND CHANGE LIVES!

JUST CRAZY KEN MELBOURNE FLORIDA!

THANK YOU FOR RUNNING FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE!

I am hoping to make it to the Disney Marathon. I live in West Michigan. This is my first TNT event (3rd marathon) and am feeling a bit nervous about the fundraising! Any suggestions or tips are 100% welcome.

If you write a good letter, and also customize your website you will be surprised how well you will do. Also never stop telling people what yoy are doing you will probably be surprised at their responses. And if you want to do a booster (event type) do something related to something you enjoy. If you are a wine connoissuer have a wine tasting, if you are into bingo try and organize a bingo, if you are into boating organize a poker run, if you like to bash Ohio State good luck with that because they got your number (sorry couldn't help myself), but you get the idea. If you need help brainstorming there is a bunch of great people here that can help. If you have questions about this horrid disease that we are going to beat let us know.  Train well and raise lots.

Hi so glad to be part of this!  My name is Lauren and I am from Northern NJ.  I will be running my first full marathon and also my first event with TNT.  I've wanted to participate in a TNT event since Novermber of 2005,  when my Grandmother passed away from Lymphoma, but it was never quite the right time.  So now I am signed up and ready to run a full marathon in memory of my grandma.  I ran my first half marathon this past May, and am pretty excited to step it up to the full.  I hope to raise enough money!!!  See you in Disney =)

I'm running Disney!  I'm so excited.  This is my first marathon.  I figured I'd just jump right into the challenge, rather than take on something shorter to start with.  I'm beginning to think a 5K would have been my better choice.   I believe I've convinced my boyfriend to join me as well, including the fundraising.  I am from a city about a half hour outside of Chicago.  I'm running in memory of my brother Brent who died from Leukemia in 1992.  I've been fundraising since about July 23rd, and I've already reached $1,150.  I'm really excited about that.  I have only sent out emails so far, but I included everyone I've ever written an email to in my life.  And, surprisingly, a lot of people replied.  I've also put a link in the bottom of all my emails that takes the reader to my donation page, and I've put a link on my facebook profile.  It has worked out very well for me so far.  I plan to get letters out in the mail by this weekend.  If anyone has any additional ideas for fundraising, I would love to hear them.

Hey Everyone! My name is Lauri, Ill be running the Half at Disney this year with the Long Island team! This is my first event ever, I thought If i'm going to do this I should do it right the first time! I joined the team because I really want to get into running, but need some extra umph to get me started, I believe that by signing up for this race and fundraising for it will give me just that! I can't wait to see everyone there!

I am running DISNEY and I am from Smithtown, New York.

This is my first time RUNNING at Disney, but my idk...20th? time visiting...lol

I joined Team in Training because, after being 230 pounds and unhealthy for 14 years...I finally joined a gym and they made us sign up to run a 5k! I couldn't believe I could do it, until I saw that finish line!! A little over a year later, I have lost over 70 pounds. Why Team in Training? Because that very first race was the LLS sponsored Turkey Trot. And at each of the additional eleven races I have completed this year, I have seen those purple shirts everywhere!! I have joined TNT so I can give back!

Hi everyone!!  I just signed up to do the Disney Half Marathon in January and I'm excited but super nervous.  I'm from Freehold, NJ and signed up because after being diagnosed with NHL in October 2006 I learned all about Team in Training and am so impressed by the hard work everyone puts into raising money for LLS.  I am extremely lucky and have never been sick (the NHL was found accidentally) although I did have my spleen out for diagnostic purposes in 2007.  I went on to get pregnant last year and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl this past February.  I am completely out of shape and very unsure about how training is going to go, but I KNOW that I can do this.  Best of luck to all of you - and THANKS!!

Hi Everyone, I am Ray from Annapolis, MD. I am signed up to run the Disney full marathon, and am really excited, as this will be my first marathon.  However, I am more excited to be running my first marathon as a member of TNT - I went to the kick-off breakfast yesterday in Baltimore, and never met such a nice, driven, un-selfish group of people in my life with such a noble and collective goal to help others.  To be honest I am a little nervous about being able to finish the marathon, but Coach Megan assures me that she will get me through with no problem (she is much more confident that I am). I have always wanted to run a marathon, but for some reason or another (I can't even think of those reasons now), I never could seem to stay motivated enough to actually run one.  That's where TNT comes in, I have finally found the motivation I need to really do it this time "To help find a cure for blood cancers", with a great group of folks that I am very confident I will be proud to call friends very soon.

Hi guys!

My name is Jen, I live in Annapolis, MD and I signed up for the Disney 1/2 marathon in honor of my mother's best friend who is currently fighting Lymphoma after years of battling breast cancer and beating it!  This is my first long-distance run and I am SO NERVOUS!!!  I have to say though, through all these nerves, I am quite excited! I'm psyched about the challenge and more determined than ever to finish because I know that whatever pain I am fighting is nothing compared to those we are running for!

I wish everyone the best and look forward to meeting some of you and doing this together, as a team!!

And the Annapolis Team is excited to have you.  Although I am not doing Disney I will be out definitely thru the Marine Corps Marathon in late October, but will probably keep on training with the Team.  Congratulations for joining the Team that is going to beat cancer.

Thanks Rick...I appreciate the welcome, means a lot!

I think we may have a friend in common, does Barb Kappel ring a bell?  She introduced me to TNT and she spoke very highly of you when I shared with her that you had reached out to me.  That goes to show what wonderful people this organization brings together and I am so proud and excited to be a part now as well

I knew Barb pretty much from my beginning in 2001, incredible lady indeed.  Ran the entire 26.2 (just about anyway) of San Diego Rock N Roll with Barb, great day that was.  Jen hope to see you saturday.
