  • Biography: I am 30 years-old mother of 4. Been married for 10 years to a wonderful husband. Last October I went into the ER because I was passing a lot of blood in my stool. I spent the weekend in the Hospital feeling like a pin cushion. The doctors refered me to Heme because of an increase of plateletes. I recieved a call from Heme saying that they wanted to see me. I went in and talked to the Heme Doc. It was like they were speaking a different languge. All understood was a JAK2 gene. But I didn't even know what that meant. I was diagnost with Myeloproliferative disease. After many tests from blood, ultrasounds, CTs, to a bone marrow biopsy, I felt like a human pin cushion. I was told that I have Myelofibrosis and would need a bone marrow transplant in the future. Nothing like scarring a person to death. But for now I sit and wait for a mircale.
