Biography:
I walked my first half marathon with TNT in the summer of 2006 to honor my father, who lost his battle with a rare type of non-Hodgkins lymphoma in January of that year. Those shoes in my profile picture represent where I started-- I wore my training shoes to my father's funeral, and I wore those shoes again to complete my first 1/2 marathon. After my first season as a TNT participant, I wasn't ready to leave the TNT community. I've continued with TNT in various ways: on any give day I'm a Fundraising Mentor, a volunteer in my chapter office, a certified TNT Walk Coach, or an assistant with our local TNT triathlon teams. I've traveled with dozens of TNT participants to their marathons, half marathons, and triathlons, where I've encouraged and cheered their accomplishments. I'm also a member of PowerBar Team Elite (due to my TNT Coach status, NOT due to my elite performances in races!). Somewhere along the way I realized that I had turned my hobby into a job, and I became a Certified Personal Trainer in 2009. I specialize in beginners-- not just beginner endurance athletes, but in those people who need help just getting started with an exercise program.

I'm a TNT Certified Walk Coach and FiTour Certified Personal Trainer who specializes in helping people take their first steps off the couch. I'm currently in the process of completing the Personal Trainer certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and am planning to complete the Corrective Exercise Specialist certification as well.
