Judy, that is great news!! I'm so glad you got a makeover for yourself. Hot Dog! I'm only sorry I wasn't with you to have one too. I so want to see pictures of you with your new "hair". Did you get real hair or synthetic?
By the way, from the waist down you're just fine. Society tells us WAAAAYYY to often that we should not have curves and fullness . . . it's just crap. It has only been in the last 40 to 50 years that we have been brainwashed into thinking we're suppose to all be a size 0 - 4. For goodness sake, that is not realistic and we're all made so differently. I say we need to celebrate our curves and the fact that we can afford food. ![]()
Hugs of love,
Jane
IRISH, we've missed you!! A dunking booth eh? I'll volunteer for that before the pie throwing...too messy and it looks like it might hurt, and as you all know, I'm a big wuss!! Hope you're feeling better and that whomever was in the hospital got released. So, y'all, let's get on the same page for the Turkey Trot.....so far we have before Thanksgiving, the day after and the week after. Mental relapses will not be good if any of us miss the festivities...let's go for the week after to free up everybody with busy families and schedules, whadda ya think??? JUDY, a turkey calling contest, what fun!!! Do we gots to gobble or can we bring a call like a "duck call"?? So glad you are taking time for you along with helping your friend, learning a southern drawl and cookin' what, tamales???
Oops, maybe that's Mexican. Your "makeover" is fantastic!! Are you saying John doesn't like the "new" lady in the um, er, back room with a sleeping area in it?? Just make sure your puppies don't get hold of it!!!! Sharon, as usual your abounding energy is astonishing. The conservation garden sounds like something I'd love to take Mary on, well, except for the back and forth trips....she's be running full out and I'd be scrambling to catch up!! Mary was here all day Wednesday and will be here again tonight for a few hours complete with popcorn and a puppet show, squirrel feeding and another round of Ice Age. I also have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, gonna go find out what's up with my ear (possible infection, go figure). Keep trying to stay away from them guys, but alas, here I have to go again. JANE Christmas already??? Yipes, I'm still trying to wrap my head around sticking my hand up a turkey's rear. I'll be there, awaiting, in the garden with the squirrels, peanuts in hand. Can't wait to see you and visit in the lovely autumn weather. It's beautiful here also, during the day, but man does it get cold at night!!! Brrrrrrr. So delighted your Dad is more himself of late, Takes a load off for sure and now that he knows the benefits of taking his meds regularly, it will be helpful to you both. Pretty much over the yips of last week, will do what I can, when I can. Will sort through it one day at a time.
EVERYBODY have a happy, healthy, greaaat day!!!
Woozies,
Kgirl
Ladies.... on the subject of size... just remember that Marilyn Monroe wore a size 14. the stick figures in Hollywood today do not represent the majority of women. at this point I'm happy to have an appetite.... some days I still don't.
Judy... love the wig! looking forward to meeting you on friday. what part of town are you going to be in?
Sharon, it is so nice to have so many places around to go with the grands isn't it.
Barbara, my heart goes out to you with your family struggles. I wish there was something I could say to help but I am at a loss... except maybe for this quote I read from Willa Cather..."Where there is great love there are always miracles." ... granted the great love is on your part at this point.
Just let me know what you would like for me to do for the turkey trot...
take care,
Karol
Hi Karol,
LOL about the beer tent! Will we be having "Turkish" beer? <hehehehe> Is there such a thing? I'm going to be stringing leaf garland everywhere and especially among the twinkling lights because the trees are looking a bit naked after Tropical Depression Ida blew through early last week.
How is everyone doing? I'm good today and thanking God for a new day.
Hugs and Happy Friday Eve,
Jane
Jane,
I'm sure there is turkish beer... most countries have one if their cultures permit alcohol.... I've had Indian beer.. didn't care for it though...
Karol
Ladies.... I have to share....as much as we enjoy sitting around this country kitchen table or hanging out in out garden.. I had such a treat this afternoon and got to meet... really and truly face to face meet!!... Judy our green peep and her husband..........it's about 1pm... the sun is shining.... there is a breeze blowing... the temperature is delightful.. mid sixties (which for this time of year could alomst be t shirt and shorts weather here in the Carolinas)...we meet at Panera Bread, grab a lite lunch and sit out on the patio.... we enjoy conversation about our journeys and those we've met along the way, what we've learned the different types of treatment we've had and what has worked and for how long and also what the statistics say are the odds we face.... you see we have to know what the odds are so we have incentive to beat the stuffing out of them!! I have found that John and Judy, like me, want so very much to beat the odds and not just for ourselves but for those we meet on this journey--- we want them to beat the odds too. After an hour or so we part... I feel enriched and encouraged and I had to share it with you
Take care,
Karol
Oh Karol, how wonderful for you and Judy and John to meet. I had lunch at Panera Bread today too, great place for lunch.
Sharon, I agree that it would be outstanding if all us peeps could find a location to meet. I was telling a friend of mine that I wish I was independently wealthy so that I could pay for the whole shootin' works for us.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Hugs,
Jane
Karol, what a wonderful afternoon!!!! Wish I could (actually, wish we all could) have been there but am sooooooo glad you got to meet Judy and John, had nice weather and a good time. Cookie said she had lunch there today also, you musta missed each other or just not known the other was there!! Has everybody picked a booth for turkey day??? Have we picked a DAY???? Everybody ready for the actual turkey day???? Having issues with my ear, went to the doc, he put me on antibiotics for a slight ear infection and drops to put in my ear to dissolve ear wax. Took a shower rather than a bath today, and water got in my ear, mixed with the ear drops, and now I'm having a hell of a time clearing my ear. Shit oh dear, does this crap ever end????? Guess I'm paying my dues for years and years of happy healthy days. Love you all, have a great weekend!!!!!
Love, faith, trust and fairy dust
Kgirl
Sharon and all, yes it was great to meet Judy and John... I forgot to tell you about an unexpected visitor we had... a tiny spider crawled across my plate... i hate spiders... as Judy went to smack it for me..it decided to pull up strings and float towards me... did I mention I hate spiders.... go ahead and laugh... I guess it is pretty funny that a grown woman who is battling this rotten disease is afraid of spiders and snakes (like the one at the library).. go figure....
Karol
He he he Karol no its not silly to be afraid of spiders. I think we all have something we jump at. It was great that you got to meet each other. And we all need to play lotto wo when we win we can meet - it would be nice to hug all of you who have helped so much.
Now cookie pie tossing doesnt hurt it is with whipped cream. Now there is flavored is yummm. After getting hit we can go grab a beer to washit down and then try tukey calling. Loved to see that. The week after sounds great. I think my daughter is dragging me to black friday.
Yeah dad not out of hospital, going to rehab for 2 weeks than back to hospiral - needs a bypass on his leg - he's down to one so mom and dad are pretty worried. So miss many days in garden traveling back and forth. Going to try tonight if not eveyone have a fantastic weekend. Its going to be nice. A nice bonfire w/smores sounds good. Enjoy
Irish
How nice to meet another Peep face to face and what a nice face too! Really enjoyed meeting Karol. We talked about our upcoming cruise and John looked kind of jealous; but I said, look we ladies may want to sunbathe topless so I think this is just a Ladies' Cruise; that cracked him up. Karol and I must have sounded nuts but my dear sweet hubby just sat there and smiled and he and Karol had a lot to share, being fellow lymphomaniacs. It did make me think how nice to meet in person for real, maybe someday huh ladies? Anyway Karol, it was so nice to spend time together. I will join you folks in the garden, found this decadent stuff called pecan chocolate pie at a southern restaurant and will bring enough for all tonight. Hope to see you later. Sending you all hugs and kisses from my brother's house in NC; finally got to visit him and his family and I could just stay put wrapped in the love of family that I so miss. Going to back to Bev tomorrow; she is coming along but has lots to deal with and Im glad I could make this trip. Going home we are gonna break the 12 hrs. up and stay in a motel in Maryland. Will keep in touch best I can. Computer time isn't easy; my laptop doesn't do so well here. Love you all, see you tonight if you'll be there. Hope you love the cake but someone have something to wash it down with, it is very sweet. Love,Green Peep, Judy
Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeps!! How y'all doin'??? Guess Karol has the beer booth (should we add a spider or two??), Irish is in charge of the pie throwing, I get the kids with the fishin' barrels, Sharon has the Chili tent (I think??). That leaves some areas uncovered, so c'mon y'all pick a poison!!! Judy, chocolate pecan pie sounds wonderful, and if you and the pie are there you betcha I won't be far behind. We'll have a cozy fire, chocolate pecan pie and brownie cheesecakes.........oooh, I'm goin' into a sugar coma, hot drinks, spiked of course, and lots of warm, loving conversation. I'll be the one wearing oversized earmuffs to keep my poor abused ear warm. Cookie is really sprucing up the outside arena (can't really call it a garden anymore, so much work not to mention safety nets have gone into it). It's beautamous!!!!! I have the best turkey outfit ever but can't get the turkey callin' down at all. I sound like a hoarse ole froggy caught mid jump. How bout we form a congo line to start the dance off then one by one peal off and do our version of the Turkey Trot?? We'll let the kids judge, so those of you that bring em, no cheatin.!!!!
Oh, and of course, boys are always welcome....can't be havin' jealous hubbies and such!!
Love y'all and bye for now.
