SODUIM NUMBERS FALLING

Greetings all,

My wife is day +86 of a DC SCT and doing well.  Her CBCs over the last month shows her sodium levels dropping.  They have her on a bag of IV sodium and want her to increase her sodium intake and drink more Gatorade type drinks.

This seems odd, anyone else have a similar experience?  Of all the numbers I have become accustom to worrying about sodium level was not one of them…

Re: SODUIM NUMBERS FALLING

Oh, I don't remember sodium being an issue before but all of the trace elements and minerals are on the table to have issues with.  Most of us deal with Mg and/or K.  But why not Na?

Many of us have been "prescribed" Gatorade.  There was a period where I practically lived on the stuff.

so I wouldn't worry about it.  Hell, rent a movie and get some popcorn.

Blessings
