Stable Splenomegaly and Stable Enlarged Mesenteric Lymph nodes, what does this mean?

I have had enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes and splenomegaly for nearly two years knowing, and the last ct scan shows that for the last 6 months they have remained stable. I also had nodules in my lungs that the last ct did not pick up due to the fact that it was only an abdomen and and pelvic ct scan...still wondering about that?, but any road I still have enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes and enlarged spleen but stable from 6 months ago. What does this mean?

I was just researching exactly what your title is last night.

I have a question for you.  Are you gluten intolerant or have you ever been diagnosed for celiac disease?  My daughter has swollen mesenteric lymph nodes and she believes she has celiac disease, she has many of the symptoms.  She will see an internist this coming Friday.

There is information on the internet on "cavitating mesenteric lymph nodes."  Here is one web site to start with:

M - I just found the other thread you and some others were writing on. This looks quite complicated!  I hope my daughter has celiac disease!  But she has many of the symptoms that those were describing.  I just finished my treatments for my MCL a year ago - I do not want my daughter to go through all that I had go through -

I hope you are doing well . . .

Matthew,

It sounds like you may have splenic marginal zone lymphoma (SMZL).  It is characterized by an enlarged spleen and nearby lymph nodes.  It is one of the indolent lymphomas which means that it progresses very slowly which might explain why your spleen and lymph nodes are stable.  Since you really don't have symptoms, you would likely be placed on "watch and wait" in any case.
