Help please

I have just recieved these results from King's in London adn wondered if someone (Trey/Phil) could confirm my reading of them. The whole draw was a nightmare as my local hospital dealt with it and originally ordered fish which was wrong and I had to insist they used edta tubes and not lithium. So I was expecting a complete failure of results. However, reading this  can I assume a result of 0.048% ( my underline) - I do hope so as it is my lowest PCR yet (4yrs) and meets Kings 0.05% 3 log.

Any words of wisdom appreciated

Marian

FINAL REPORT

MRD Monitoring: Residual disease IS detected by PCR but not cytogenetics/FISH

Cytogenetics Karyotype: Fail

Cytogenetics Result: Insufficient viable cells for growth in culture.

BCRABL Assay Comments: PB : % p210 BCR-ABL/ABL (e13a2; e14a2) ratio = 0.048%.

The M-BCR-ABL transcripts tested WERE detected by q-PCR (Taqman). Interpretation: No significant (<0.5 log) change in level from the

previous sample.

Cyto FISH Result: NORMAL RESULT. Negative for BCR/ABL fusion.

Re: Help please

They are indeed saying that cytogenetics were all clear (couldn't find any actual Ph+ cells) and PCR test for the BCR-ABL protein came back at 0.048% which they note is not a 'significant' change from your last PCR (which I believe was 0.078% so you've dropped a further 0.2 log whereas they class a half log movement as significant).

If 0.05% is the Kings MMR then welcome to the sunny uplands of MMR!  Champers time!

Congratulations

Phil
