Day +90, 2nd Transplant

I've finally returned to feeling well most of the time. I'm skipping my PM nap today, although the fatigue can still be crushing at times. Following these Boards was especially hard due to how I was feeling physically and mentally. I hope to participate more now that my transplant seems to be working. My main problem was lack of red cell production due to residual 0+ blood fighting with my donor's A+ blood. But that's started to change. I am now making rbc's, and although still low, above transfusion levels.

Transplant #2 was much harder on me than the first. Not only did I have TBI, which did all sorts of annoying things to various body parts, I had stronger chemo drugs. I'm getting too old for this.

So now I sit and wait and stay away from sick people. At least I feel like eating now, and can have some fun gaining the weight I lost.

So glad to hear you are getting better. Please do take plenty of rest--TBI was hard for me too.

PJ, glad to see your feeling better, for the most part. Your blood type change sounds like the one my husbands has/will have. He was O+ and is changing to A+ (I think, maybe A-). Hope you continue to feel better.

God Bless

So glad that you're feeling better.  Your presence on the boards was missed.  Looking forward to more wit and wisdom from a 2-transplantee, especially as my daughter prepares for her second.

So good to see you back.  "Sounds" like you're feeling prety good.  And very glad the numbers are improving.  Hope this is the first sign you're back with us regularly.  We missed you.

Blessings

Re: Day +90, 2nd Transplant

PJ, WooHoo!!! So glad to see you on here, and glad things are going basically well! I'm sure it will be a while before you feel like yourself again, but your story of making it through a second transplant is absolutely inspiring to me....just as when I first came to this board, and your first transplant experience helped guide me through what were scary, anxious times for me as I started to navigate through the process. I'm just so relieved you are finally feeling better, though I know this was a tougher one for you.....you are an inspiration to lots of us here, grateful you are able to post again.

Keep up the good work, PJ, get plenty of rest!

Pam
