FYE-
I am having 6 cycles and like you have three more to go. I just had my ninth this past Friday and I am feeling really sick. I hate these so much--three more seems like forever even though I know better. Denise
Thanks. I just needed to feel like someone understands. I live alone so no one really sees my day to day struggle. I'm usually very upbeat about things but sometimes it gets you down. Good luck with your trreatment.
Hey just want to say good luck with the rest of the treatments.. I also had spleen involvement so I would like to talk to you, email me at (salsalover_me@yahoo.com) so we can talk.Take great care Alex

Good luck! I had 7 cycles, and just celebrated 7 months since I completed my last chemo. I told my friends and nurses that I would have taken the first 6 again to not have to do any of the last 3. I know how rough it is, but be strong and stay positive! The end is near, and you will soon begin your trek to a new and better life!
If there's anything I can do to offer support, please let me know!
Best wishes,
Wes
I'm doing 8 cycles, just had my 11th treatment this past Thursday. Was kinda hoping we would only need 6 cycles but it looks like we're doing all 8...I can't wait till I can say I only have 3 more to go! It's definitely not easy, but hopefully it'll all be behind us soon enough. We just have to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel! For me its the fatigue and the stomach pains/nausea that are the worst. What do you find the most difficult? Take care and stay strong!
Hi!!!
I only have 1 left! Nov. 9! I can't wait. Will do my final tests the week after thanksgiving and get the results on Dec. 16. I am actually feeling better as I near the end. The worst for me was the beginning and the middle. I was vomitting a lot in the beginning from the cancer and then in the middle I was throwing up from the chemo. Got it under control with Emend or maybe my body just started responding better. Last time the nausea was less. Right now my joints are sore for the first time. Definitely been interesting. What stage were you etc.? Where all was the cancer? Excited to find someone else doing 16 treatments. Hope you are well. I just did Light the Night last Thursday and raised over $9,000. Very exciting. Happy Tuesday!

when is your last chemo, denise? mine is nov. 9! can you believe we are at the end? ![]()
I'm so excited for you fye!! I was stage 4 B, diagnosed in May 2009. My doctor said my case presented a little differently than normal Hodkin's cases because mine was primarily in the marrow and only in a few lymph nodes; whereas normally it hits the lymph nodes first and then spreads. I had to have a blood transfusion right when I started cuz my hemoglobin was so low but thankfully its been holding up and that means that the marrow is being cleared! I went in for follow up tests (PET and CT) about a month ago and all the nodes have shrunk and my doctor said that the cancer is inactive
I have five treatments left and I'm anxiously waiting to see what the outcome will be...16 treatments is A LOT!! My body is going through a world of changes, but I try to focus on the positive and remind myself that the discomfort (hopefully temporary) is totally worth it if it means saving my life. Good luck on the 9th!! Be well!
Hi FYE-
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Something to celebrate. From these discussions I know how difficult this has been on you and I am glad your suffering is about to end. I have two left. My next one is this Friday (Nov6th) and my last is scheduled for November 20th. I am so glad to be this close to the end. Denise
I was diagnosed in April. Not sure if i already told you all this. i was also stage 4b with cancer in the bone marrow, spleen and lungs. had 13 or 14 blood transfusions. i started loosing track. ... excited to hear from you. we will both be through this before you know it. thanks for sharing! best to you and keep me posted. : )
will think of you on the 6th and the 20th. good luck!!!
I also had 8 cycles of ABVD for HD 3b. Just back from the doc I 'm celebrating 1 year remission today thank God. Best of luck with treatment. ![]()
Thanks everyone for responding. Nice to know I'm not alone. I was just a little concerned that I had not heard of anyone else doing 16 treatments. Everyone seems to do 12 or less. It's interesting to hear everyone's protocol. I makes me feel more confident in my own treatment. I don't feel as educated as I'd like to be on that topic. Does anyone know if we have a higher risk of relapse or a secondary cancer if we do 16 treatments? and i'm not doing final PET scan or CT and bone marrow until two weeks after my final treatment. should i be concerned about that???
So glad to hear you are in remission, layla! Can't wait to say those words.
You will hear those words FYE. Private mail me if you need anymore info ![]()
