This is a poem I wrote for an FB friend named Christopher in Cyprus.  He saw my story on a leukemia support group on facebook.  His girlfriend had just been diagnosed with CML in January and was in the midst of treatment.  He wanted me to send some encouraging words to her.  I sent them a letter and he responded saying - Yes, that is what we need LOVE FAITH PATIENCE and PRAY.  I was so excited by his response I wrote a poem for him to give to his girlfriend.  I actually turned it into a greeting card and will send to both of them for Christmas as a surprise.

A Poem for Chara

Love unconditional has no limitations

It can heal wounds that only the heart can see

It quenches your soul and nurtures your spirit

The more you give of it, the more you will receive

Faith requires little but returns so much more

As we place our hopes and fears into His hands

We boldly move forward knowing we are protected

We praise and glorify him by walking in His plan

Patience is virtue, a truth that cannot lie

An act borne of wisdom and courageous endurance

We are blessed to wait on His will and His word

We are rewarded with His blessed assurance

Prayer connects us to our everlasting Spirit

It provides us with a holy and sacred dwelling place

To pour out our hearts for God's tender mercy

To accept our birthright of God's sacred grace

As our circumstances attempt to overwhelm us

When doubt quickly turns into grief and despair

Take comfort in knowing He is always with us

With forever love, faith, patience and prayer
