Not sure if anyone else has had all the symptoms of Lymphoma, been told by the doctor, or multiple drs that they feel strongly that you have it; but just cant find it. I have had two lymph node biopsies, so much blood work my arms still show marks and yet nothing as of yet. Any advice? Any direction? I have been to primary Dr who has dealt with numerous Lymphoma cases, Oncologist, Oncology Surgeon, hemotolgist (who brushed me off even against the other doctors strong feelings of Lymphoma) and finally back to another Oncologist. They have run every infectious disease test, every bizarre illness test and yet still no answers. Confused even more. No definite answers; fed up yet very sick. At 39, I weigh what I did at 19. (this would be awesome if not for the other symptoms: fever, nausea, swollen lypmh nodes, night sweats, rash, fatigue, etc)
Hi
I am so sorry you are in this situation, I am also in a similar situation. I would try a cancer treatment center. I cannot get a real diagnosis either, I had a cervical lymph node biopsy 8 weeks ago and have had all sorts of problems since. My pathology report said lymphoproliferative disorder is suspected, but each doc I see either tells me it is nothing, or makes me feel stupid. I know my body and I know something is wrong. I live in a small town with few resources. My latest dilema is the fact that my shoulder has a huge knot that they keep putting steroid injections in and after a few days the pain is twice as bad. I had 0 pain before the biopy (it was excisional) How did you get them to do a second biopsy, and if you don't mind my asking, what were the results of your pathology report? Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you for your comment. I understand your frustration. It is very scary and possibly made worse by inexperienced pathology or Doctor. The hematologist barely answered questions and had time for us. So, we are trying to get into a cancer center. However they say I need a diagnosis before they will accept me. Strange. I wonder if anyone has experienced this as well. My wife and I now understand the fear coupled with not understanding which direction to go. I also had an excisement. In my groin which has led to a hematoma and severe pain in my leg. I was a runner and now I have to walk with a cane; ugh! I refuse to give in to this. Just want answers. Even if it ends up being Epstien-Barr, I am willing to accept a real answer. We are going back to the oncologist who helped the most. He is ordering a bone marrow biopsy since I have healed enough from the other biopsys. Unfortunately, it has been recommended that because i was on anti-biotics (three consecutive rounds) it may have thrown off my blood tests and biopsies. Very interesting. In the meantime, we just proceed with as much of a positive attitude as possible. I hope you also find answers - definite ones. I just wonder how much this delayed diagnosis situation happens to others as well. My worst fear is that by the time they diagnose me, i will be in an advanced stage. Scary.
I too had all of your symptoms except the weight loss. I am 39 years old also and have been deeling with this for a few years but the fevers are starting to get worse. I was originally dianosed with crohns from my gastro doctor. I had an appt with her and she was not there so I saw another gastro doc who told me I didn't have crohns and said I should have a pelvic and abdomal ct scan which I did. The results I have a 8.3 cm lymph node mass behind my stomach and larger than normal nodes in groin area. Then was sent to a cancer doc he ordered a pet/ct scan which showed hot spots in the gut and groin, under right armpit and left side of neck. Because of the pet scan there are going to take out the node in my neck that is hot and biopsy it. Just from reading your post it sounded like you have not had those tests you need to get them dom it is called a pet/ct scan it will tell you if cancer has spread and to where I wished somebody would have told me about that test along time ago. I am going to start chemo next week.
Lymph_Fear.....what have your doctor(s) come up with as far as a game plan, since they don't seem to know what you have? Have you had a PET Scan???
If not, I believe you need to ask for one. We need to be our strongest advocate(s).
God Bless you and keep you safe.
