First of all, let me give my prayers for everyone. About 4 years ago, I had a physical with a CBC. My WBC came back high. They ran all the tests, and did a bone marrow Bx, which came back ok. I was told I had *questionable* cells. This week, I had a CBC ran on me, and my WBC is now at 18.5. A year ago, it was at 14.4. My neutrophils are at 79% which is 5 points high, and my lymphocytes are low at 16% and considered low by 4 points. The docs here don't seem concerned that my WBC have increased over 7 points in 4 years. And I am not sure how concerned I should be either.
Can someone give me their thoughts?
Thanks
Karin
Should I have posted this somewhere else?? Im just concerned that my wbc levels keep gradually increasing. The Docs tell me I just have a high count....but, if its just high, why would it keep increasing. They have me coming back in 3 months. But I have done that already...and everytime its higher. They just tell me they want to keep an *eye* on the wbc level...and everytime its higher than the previous time.
If i should post elsewhere to get advice...can someone please tell me.
Call my crazy. . but this doesn't seem terribly significant. Do you have any other symptoms, besides a slightly elevated wbc? It's possible that you had a touch of a cold or something at the time of your CBC. Anything is possible, but to me it doesn't seem terribly out of the norm. Are there any other abnormalities on your CBC, or any other symptoms you're having to make you think there's a problem? I'm not trying to diminish your feelings here, just trying to understand what is making you think there's a probelm. When they said "Questionable" was anything else mentioned? I'm just trying to understand here.
Hope all is well and that you're feeling alright.
Emily
Thanks Emily! Other than what I mentioned earlier with the counts. All they tell me is lets watch it. I guess i dont understand what there is to watch if there isnt a problem. for the past almost 4 years, the counts have gone up. and they just keep telling me to come back in 2 months and have it checked again. WHY keep having it checked if it keeps going up...and they tell me nothing is wrong. I feel ok. Im tired all the time. Get headaches 3/4 times a week. I just dont know what we are watching if they blow off the results to me just having a high count. AND if its just considered high...why would it keep increasing?
thanks again,
Karin
