Hi, I am Robin and was just diagnosed with follicular lymphoma on Sept 16th. I have been staged as 3A. I am just learning about follicular lymphoma and still have to see my oncologist for the "plan". Everything I have read tells me that with no symptoms I am in for a watch and wait period. Has any one ever started treatment with success and not waited for watching and waiting?
Hi Robin,
Welcome to the club no one wanted to join. I, too, am a follicular lymphoma patient albeit when they found it in me, it had transformed and my diagnosis was grade III, stage 3a. Because of transformation, which means the slow cancer began to move faster, I went through 6 rounds of R-CHOP. Did your doctor say what grade the cancer was?
I believe there on some on the board that have taken treatment and not waited and had success. You might post this message on the Living with . . . forum and look to the right for sub-types and click on Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. There are several people over there with follicular lymphoma.
You've found a good place for information. None of us are doctors, but we can share our experience, strength and hope and listen when you just need to vent.
Blessings,
Jane
PS: I see your user name as Emilyisaac, but you go by Robin . . interesting.
Hi Jane,
Thanks for the information about posting in living with, I will do that.
As for grade? I'm not sure yet. I still am learning about all of this. I was told stage 3A, but wasn't graded or that info just went in one ear and out the other.
My user name??? When I was trying to register I kept getting errors. So I used my cats names, I am Robin.
Thanks again.
Robin
Hi Robin,
Oh yea, you're a cat person!!!!! I have two cats, Trapper and Chad. Trapper is the color of a Lilac Siamese with baby blue eyes and Chad is the color of a Russion Blue with gold eyes. They are hugh cats, weighing in around 18 pounds a piece.
How are you feeling today? Post when you can and when you want.
Hugs and blessings,
Jane
