It would be a shame if we lost all the threads and posting from the old forum, but I'm not sure how we can retrieve them and save them. There is a wealth of individual experiences which are valuable to us all. Does anyone know how to save the old information?
Wes
I'd be willing to volunteer to investigate writing a migration tool to move old threads to the current forum while keeping all the original dates on the posts. I agree with the other posts that it would be a true shame to lose all of that information. If the admins at LLS are willing to provide me with a copy of the old flat files and a schema (ddl, database dump, ERD, etc.) for the new system I'd be happy to give it a go. No guarantees but at least we could say we tried right?
Great idea, but they will never go for that. They've had a couple of years to figure out a solution, and they really don't care it seems.
I agree. It does seem such a waste of so much information that can help so many.

It is dumbfounding to me, and even a little hurtful, that all the comments and heartfelt support/information is going to be lost.
That is a tragedy and what almost can be stated as adding insult to injury. Something has to be done to preserve that information.
I often refer back to it.
I too would go back and refer to old posts. I am not a fan of this board yet.
I am trying to get use to it but it just does not seem as user friendly. It seems so lonely b/c not many people are posting here. Hopefully more will post in the near future.
Thanks to the folks who run this board for finding a way to save the old postings. It sure provides valuable information concerning the different paths people have taken in their quest for a cure for their disease. I'm sure glad it has been archived and is available for all to read.
Thanks again,
Wes
Wes,
They are saving the post from the old board? Maybe I misunderstood, but I think that is what you are saying. nicole
The L&LS folks are not guaranteeing that the old postings will be available past July 1st.
I've noticed that not all boards have saved postings, but the board for Mantle Cell Lymphoma does have archived postings: http://community.lls.org/community/bloodcancer/livingwith/mantlecelllymphoma
I hope we don't lose them.
Wes
When the past postings were deleted, a history of treatments and personal stories were lost. What a waste of valuable information.
