I'm just wondering if administrators ever seek out those who have left the boards for one reason or another. I use the CML discussion board, and in the last several months, we've lost two very active members who I thought contributed a lot to the interactions among users of that particular board. I believe they left with bad feelings, and just wondered if there was ever any kind of "outreach" to individuals like that in an effort to encourage their return to the discussions in that group. I think all of us need all the support we can get and I hate to see them left without the support that can be gained from this site.
Thank you.
Jane,
Did those people have their e-mail address in their profile? I'm asking because if I left the board, it would mean a lot more to me if other participants asked me to return instead of the administrators. Since the administrators are not social workers, I wouldn't think they would be inclined to ask people to return. If the people left due to the content or administration of the site then I feel that it would be incumbent upon them to explain the reasons before leaving.
Since I'm not on the forums you're referencing I may be out of bounds here. We've seen some great contributers leave other forums but generally it's because they're lives have moved on and they don't feel the need to be here. While we miss them and their contributions, we're happy that they've progressed.
