Just wondering if I am the only one crazy enough to walk a full marathon. The only walkers that I have come across are doing 1/2. That makes me wonder if it is possible to walk and hit the finish line in time.

Crazy? No. Dedicated, passionate, determined? Yes! As long as you do a walker friendly marathon (which TNT normally does) you can most surely do it! I train with a spectacular lady about to do her fifth walking marathon with no plans of stopping. Listen to your coach and you will do great.

Train well, raise lots.

I walked the Disney Full Marathon this past year and finsihed in under the 7 hours time limit. It was my 1st marathon and it was a wonderful experience. I am doing it again this year. You do have to keep the pace though, Disney is strict on their time limit.

Well PBELEC you are my HERO! I have had several restless nights wondering if I can do it. And I have heard that they will pick you up if you are not doing a 16 minute mile. My heart knows that I can do it. The most I have walked so far is 11 miles, which really wasn't bad at all....almost a HALF MARATHON. Just worried about those long miles when you are thinking....what am I doing this for???? Then I will just have to remeber...cancer cancer cancer. Hope to see you at the finish line!

You are not crazy.... My 1st TNT experiance was walking the Bermuda Marathon. 7.5 hours putting one foot in front of the other. My wife and I did it together in honor of a very good friend's daughter. Today she is a strong healthy survivor with wonderful children and a great husband. My wife went on to walk both Alaska and San Diego. I turned to cycling - I like the "toys", I found walking a bore. I'm going on my 6th century next week. We had all levels of walkers on our teams. We had a couple of super "race walkers" They did the route in 5.25 hours without running. Neat. Most of us were in the 7 + time zone. A good coach makes a huge difference. This is an endurance event. Eat and drink more than you expect. You'll have a great time and a super sence of accomplishment. Every mile you walk helps bring others closer to a cure. Go for it - Good Job. Fred, MN alumni TNT 26.2 --- You can do 26.2!
