I am having a fundraiser at the Livonia Steak N Shake on Monday, June 16 from 11 am to 3 pm. Steak N Shake will donate 20% of all sales during this time to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is valid only at the Livonia on this day only. A special voucher is needed. More details and the voucher can be found on my donation page http://www.active.com/donate/ltnMadiso/2339_taz8680. Please encourage all you know to attend.
thanks,

Hi Alma! How did the event go?
Not really sure. I have not been able to contact the manager for a final tally. I know there was great participation from both my team captain's office and mine. I'm not really sure how many people came in other than that. I was there most of the time when I was not making deliveries. I passed out many flyers so I need to get the final results. Overall I was pleased with what we did but I'm not sure how successful it was. Well it was my first fundraising event like that so I did learn some things that I can use to improve my next one at Shield's. They donate 25% so I'm starting to work on that. I think I'm most challenged with getting the word to the right people. Any suggestions?

There are some great fundraising tips on the Light the Night website. Here's a sampling of some of my favorites from the site, but check it out for yourself.
Garage Sale
Plan a garage sale to add to your fundraising efforts. Clean out your closets and get team members to donate items.
Swear Jar
Set a jar up where anytime a swear word is said, you have to put a donation into the jar.
Brown Bag Days
Have employees bring a brown bag lunch and donate the cost of what they would have spent going out or in the cafeteria. You can even provide drinks and dessert to make it more fun.
Executive Car Washes
Ask your corporate executives to wash their employee's cars during a lunch hour and all proceeds go towards the LTN Walk Team.
Does anyone else have any tips out there?
Hi Alma,
Please email me any of your events. I live in Melbourne Florida, But my Dad, Mom, Sister, Cusions, Uncles, Aunt and Husbind of my sister Karan that pass away of Leukemia all live in Michigan. Not far from where you are and I will send them. Sorry that I was out away from my computer and did not see this event.
*I can not thank you enough for being apart of this. My Sister lived a year longer than they gave her and she fought to the end. You there in Michigan gave me and the rest of her family that extra time! May God Richly Bless You!*
Just Ken thanking you!
Hi Ken,
I just wanted to let you know that I am doing a photo fundraiser in the Troy Mi area. If your family would like to help let me know. For $10 they can get either a family photo (1-10x13) or kids package (1-8x10, 2-5x7 and 8 wallets for children under 16). 100% of all money I collect goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Thanks
Jen
