Hi Crazy Ken Here again,

Today I am looking for some out of the normal ideas for fundraising. I don't bake that well, nor can I sing or dance very well; but people have paid me to stop! Both! This year I want to start to really make a difference and I know there are some real pro's out there that can teach this old man and anyone else that reads this how to do it better. When we find a cure I want to say I did everything I could; those kids out there from years to 99 deserve nothing less than my best effort. So I am not Afraid to ask for help. The more the better. HELP! Crazy Ken and let's help each other.

I did a wine tasting fundraiser. It could have been even bigger than what I did, but I just kept it friends and family and held it at my house. I got TNT and LLS out there because everything was donated. It is amazing how generous stores are when you let them know you are from this organization:) I would walk in or call liquor stores, grocery stores, delis, etc and ask for donations and most were willing to just hand over food or wine. I didn't put any money into the event and had atendees donated whatever they wanted, most people gave $20-$50.

Ken,

I just had a fundraiser at Steak N Shake. They donate 20% of all sales with a voucher to LLS. I'm not sure how successful it was because I don't have the final tally but it was easy to get support from my team's jobs. Most people at work will buy lunch anywhere if someone else is willing to fetch it. (Cost of gas, not enough time in the day . . . ) We offered delivery service. We took the orders the week before, dropped them off to Steak N Shake and then on Monday, each person left their office as if they were picking up their own lunch and just brought everyone else's back. HUGE participation. I did distribute flyers to the neighboring business and place some posts on the internet but the majority of our funds came from our co-workers. Our positioning was: you have to eat anyway so it won't cost you extra. AND we bring it to you.

I'm preparing for another fundraiser at Shield's Pizza in Southfield, MI. They donate 25%. I'm a little challenged when it comes to spreading the word and getting the voucher in people's hands but if nothing else, I have my coworkers. This really didn't cost me anything. It's very simple because all you're doing is getting people into a location and they handle the rest. All communication was done by email or by flyers.

I hope this helps. It's very easy. If you have any suggestions for me as to how to get the word out, that would be appreciated too.

Hi Ken,

This is my 4th TNT event back to back so I've had to do alot of different things. I'm happy to share some of them with you all! The one I'm doing this upcoming week is a "Dunk Tank" at a local neighborhood bar on their patio. I emailed a "SPLASH down to FIGHT CANCER" flyer to everyone on my email list and asked that they forward it to their email lists. My kids also posted the event on their Facebook sites. I did this event last year and we had a great time while raising $$ for Team in Training and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
