Here is what I used for getting donations of raffle items and gift certificates, it could easily be changed for coorporate sponsors.
I am contacting you regarding an event which I have committed to for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In July I became a member of the Team In Training (TNT) Honolulu Marathon team. Since then, I have been training for a 26.2 mile run in Honolulu, Hawaii. On December 9^th^, I will complete the Honolulu Marathon, this time not for me, but for the many people suffering from blood cancers.
I will be running in honor of (add honored teammates and personal honorees here) and all the other children and adults faced with blood cancers.
What you should know:
- Someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer every 5 minutes.
- Every 10 minutes someone will lose their battle with a blood cancer.
- The good news is that the survival rates for blood cancers have more than doubled since 1970.
By becoming a participant in TNT, I have agreed to raise a minimum of $4,700, but hope to raise at least $5,000. This money will fund valuable research and patient aid programs in accordance with the Society's mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The support I receive from your company will directly benefit patient care and research (75% of donated funds go towards the Society's core mission), and help me reach my goal of raising $5,000. It will also help thousands of people suffering from blood cancer. Together we can make a difference!
I am looking for help in the way of donations in the form of cash or gift certificates to be used for a raffle. Please let me know if you could help me with either of these.
Thank you for your kind consideration. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at (phone number). I look forward to working with you soon.
