Anyone doing anything different with thier fundraising website (other than the standard template or text that LLS provides)? Personally, I didn't do anything too terribly creative, but did register an easier URL to remember: www.RunKevinRun.com I'm looking for some creative ideas to create some traffic.

I created a business card with my active.com web address & TNT logo. I handed out cards to everyone who would take one!!

HI Team,

Try listing on your web-site what a donation does. Like this:

□ $1,000 Will help The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fund a researcher to find a cure.

□ $500 Will provide patient aid to a person with leukemia or a related cancer for a year.

□ $100 Will provide a patient with transportation cost associated with traveling from home to the cancer center.

□ $75 Will provide bone morrow typing for a family member of a patient with leukemia.

□ $50 Will register one person to be a bone marrow donor.

□ $25 Will pay for the cost of a patient's chemotherapy drug prescription co-pay.

□ $ Any donation will help continue the research needed to find a cure.

People like to know why they should give. and that it can and will happen with their help.

Here's my site. http://www.active.com/donate/tntcfl/helpmethatothersmaylive

The slide show is really cool! How do you insert that into your page? I have enough trouble just getting italics and bold text where I want it.

You go to slide.com. Upload the photos you want on your slideshow. Then it tells you to copy and paste (all the garb). You take that and then paste it in to where you can customize your webpage. It's very simple.

I used MicroSoft Office FrontPage. It is easy to format and include links to (public) stored pictures so that you can include formats and more than one picture. Just paste the 'text' from the 'code' page into the place on the TNT web page where you are allowed text. It sometimes takes a while for TNT to review it and make it public so there can be a delay. I thanked every person and every group that helped me! See my old website for how it ended up looking (hopefully my picture links are not broken):

Yes, I have gone well beyond the plain vanilla web page, using some pretty basic HTML. It sounds hard but is not. You can check out what I've done this year at:

http://www.active.com/donate/tntva/tntvaARitter2007

I have written a guide for our team in Virginia that shows how to do most of the stuff I've done there. If you want a copy, just email me. After this season (doing PF Chang in Arizona), I am going to try to take a few days and update my guide so maybe you will just want to wait.

I thinki when doing fundraising, you need a website that goes well beyond the starter out of the box version. I've done more and more with it each of my three years of TNT fund raising, and I think it has really helped in getting people to donate.

I really like the idea of registering your URL. How did you do this?

Hey, I'm getting ready to mentor again this year for Tahoe, and perhaps Hawaii, for the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter. I'm working on a handbook on fundraising, website setup, cool ideas, etc. and would love to get a copy of your manual. Please send it to Chryl Hoz at mailto:cnh1cnh@hotmail.com if you don't mind.

With many thanks,

Chryl
