I did the "running" thing but I actually enjoy hiking

Hi! If you enjoy hiking, you're going really to love this event. I would suggest that the first thing you do is get all the details at one of the information sessions. If you're in the Westchester/Huson Valley area (not sure if this board is open to national?), there's going to be one after Thanksgiving with a mini-hike to get us all warmed up.

Sunday, November 25th @ 10am
Memomine Trail in Bear Mt.

We will be meeting up at Silvermine picnic area parking lot. Be sure to wear your hiking boots, bring 1 liter of water and a light snack.

You have to sign up ahead of time to attend though, so do that at www.hikefordiscovery.org/wch or call Diandra at 914-949-0084.

I am in the Los Angeles in California. I live in the area the call the Inland Empire or the San Gabriel Valley
Lots of mountains, heck we trained on them for the marathon
What's going on in this area and who is the best contact for "hike for discovery'?

Hello,

I would contact your local Society office to find out if they are participating in the event. Only a few select areas participate.

You can go to http://www.hikefordiscovery.org/ocie . It looks like they will soon be recruiting for Yosemite in June.

To find out if Hike For Discovery is being offered in your area, just go to www.hikefordiscovery.org and input your zip code. You'll find out if the chapter in your area offers HFD, and you can also find out how to sign up for an information meeting. You'll have a great time!
