2006 Marine Corps Marathon -- Training was grueling.. race day was nothing like I had imagined.. but the best feeling was crossing the finish line hand in hand with my running "angel"/partner!! :D

My training partner's sister, Sarah, was a mentor for the Iowa Chapter. She kept getting after her brother and I to do the Lake Tahoe Century bike ride with TNT. Well, I finally signed up to ride for the Indiana team for 2004, but, ironically, my training parter (her brother) could not do the event because he and his family were moving. Since Sarah was training for the ride in Iowa and I was in Indiana, we did not see each other again until the weekend of the ride.

Here is the eerie thing. Right after you go up the first big hill at Lake Tahoe, you get your picture taken. When I went to go pick up my picture after the ride, guess who was riding right behind me in the picture??? It was Sarah- the same person who had recruited me. How strange is that??? Out of 5,000 other riders, there she was in my picture. I still shake my head every time I see that picture.

I'll never forget my first event, but I've enjoyed each and everyone of the 5 events that I have done so far. I always tell people, you may not always have a good race ( because of an injury, bad weather, not feeling well, etc.), but if you do an event with TNT, you will always have a great unforgettable weekend.

Sincerely,

Dan O'Brien (AKA Wrangler- Go Team Indiana)

I just ran my first race with TNT on my 40th birthday, September 2nd,2007. The whole experience was GREAT! I was a certifed couch potato until I started training with TNT. I never in a million years thought that I would run a half-marathon! Check out my pictures at :
