ITP again

I have ITP again, last time, five years ago, they took my spleen out and no problems since then. All of a sudden my platelets fall from 250 to 13. They did a BMB and it went down to 5. Place me in the hospital and gave me platelets and chemo. (Ruxtan) SP? Platelets went up to 72. Now they want me to do chemo for the next three weeks and put me on steroids, 80mg daily. I'm presently waiting on clinical trial in June at OSU. I'm going to do the PCI-34575(?) something like that, Have anyone had this problem where all of a sudden your platelets dropped? And if so, how are you now? My white count have been slowly going up, it's around 84 right now. It's been 20 months since last clinical trial at OSU. They said my platelets have to be at 30 before going on trial, so they are trying to make sure it does. Get another CBC on Monday before treatment on Tuesday. Dr in town will talk to me on Tuesday about the finding of my BMB. Would love to hear from anyone that went through this.

Thanks and God bless,

MaryV
