HELL YA !! LAST CHEMO PILL TONIGHT !!!!!!!
These were Chz' status update on his FB earlier. Being so private as he is, I did not expect him to post it. Pure coincidence that he is leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow for the weekend with his fraternity. I can just imagine it will be one big party!
Three years and four months ..... It seems like it was only yesterday. It was quite a journey. For those of you in the midst of it all, there is indeed light at the end of the very dark tunnel. Reading some posts on this board has kept my sanity and kept me company.
We are not planning anything to celebrate OT. Everyday has been a gift to us since he was in remission.
Chz is done. He is OT. He graduated. And April Fool's Day is the day he had a system reset. FIGHT ON ! ! !
And Tonya I am tempted to hop on the plane and celebrate with him. Chz loves poker. Unfortunately, they do not allow 18 year olds to play in the casino. I can only imagine him setting up a table in the confines of their hotel room - just like what he does when going to a party. What can kids (under 21) do in Las Vegas?
I told him to have a nice juicy steak dinner since his HGB was only 8.4 yesterday. He is hopping on their chartered bus right now for the 4 hour trip from Los Angeles to Las Vegas.
Oh geez Noel, I don't really know what 18 year olds do here on vacation! To be honest, I think most get fake ID's and try to do stuff!!
I mean, there's stuff to do and see, walking around the strip is an event in itself, and I'm sure he could go see some shows and stuff. Is he coming with all 18 year olds, or are there some 21 in the bunch? We're actually off the strip near the mountains in Summerlin, so I really don't get out on the strip anymore.
Wow, what wonderful, wonderful news. I am extremely happy for you, Noel, for Chz, and for your whole family.
I don't think I've seen a photo of Chz before. What a good-looking boy.
I hope he has an absolutely fabulous time in Las Vegas!
Here's to many happy, chemo-free days ahead....
Noel (and Chz!) -- great news!!
I told you it was a tough road, but that Chz would get through it fine.
Tremendous news. And soon enough, he'll be graduating from college. Sam graduates in a month and a half. Feeling like the 3.5 years of treatment was all a bad dream.
I started this thread in Jun 2010 when Chz turned 18 and graduated HS. Used the same thread April 2011 when he went OT. He is now a college sophomore and will be leaving on May 28 to do a 2 months summer internship in Dublin, Ireland. We would never have thought that he would have come this far. I am just trying to share his story for those of you who are in the midst of this very terrifying experience. If a picture is worth a thousand words, here it is to express our happiness a hundred thousand times. Please allow me to share a "Christmas Video" greetings I sent out last Christmas to friends and family. I wish you all the best......
Noel -- as you know, I could not have been happier when Chz finished a year ago, and am even happier now to realize he has been OT for a year now. The next thing you know, he will be graduating from college (like someone we know), and then out living his life.
Good luck, keep the faith, and pay it forward, my friend.
Amazing! It is so uplifting to read and see a truly wonderful outcome. I'll be smiling all night. Your story and video evoke so much hope, but I'll be laughing for eternity when thinking about your boys and their flashy Michael Jackson moves. In any event, so thrilled for your family.
