Just a reminder that flu shot season will be upon us again soon. All CLL/SLL patients should consult their oncologist/haematologist for their guidance and recommendations.

I start FCR treatment for cll in the next couple of weeks.  I have read on www.clltopics.org the importance of getting

my annual flu shot, but was told by someone in my doctor's office that they don't recommend them until after chemo.

because they stimulate the immume system.  I am 66 years old and was diagnosed in 2004.  Any thoughts?

This is far too important to leave to 'someone in my doctor's office'. You need to consult your hematologist on this matter for clarification.
