If you find that the text on The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Community is too small to read there are some things you can do to increase the text size in your browser.
Note: This how-to explains how to increase text size in Firefox 3, Internet Explorer 7, and Safari 4. If you use another browser, do a search in Google or another search engine for "how to increase text size in NAME OF BROWSER". There are many informative how-tos that exist online.
Firefox 3
There are three ways you can increase text size.
- First way. Press down the CTRL key on your keyboard and press down the + (plus) key until you are pleased with the text size. You can reduce the text size by pressing CTRL and the - (minus) key, and you can reset the text size by pressing CTRL and 0 (zero).
- Second way. In your menu click View, then Zoom then select Zoom Text Only (if you only want to increase the text size). Click View again, then Zoom and then Zoom In to increase the text size. There are also options to Zoom Out or Reset.
- Third way. This way you can permanently set your font to a specific size which will apply to all websites you visit in this particular browser. Go to Tools, then Options then select the Content tab. Under Fonts & Colors you can adjust font and font size.
Internet Explorer 7
There are two ways you can increase text size.
- First way. Go to Page then Text Size, then select from the options available from Smallest to Largest. If the text size does not change, you will need to go to Tools then Internet Options, then under the General tab click the Accessibility button. Under formatting, make sure the "Ignore font sizes specified on webpages" is checked. The size of the the font should now change.
- Second way. You can increase text size by zooming the entire webpage (which will also zoom in on images). Press the CTRL and then + (plus) keys until it is the size you prefer. You can press CTRL and then - (minus) keys to reduce the size, and you can press CTRL and 0 (zero) to reset to the default size.
Safari 4
There are three ways you can increase text size.
- First way. Press the command or CTRL key on your keyboard, then press the + (plus) key to increase the text size. You can reduce the text size by pressing the command or CTRL key and the - (minus) key, or you can reset the size of the text by pressing the command or CTRL key and 0 (zero).
- Second way. In your menu select the Page menu (indicated by the icon that looks like a page), then Zoom then select Zoom Text Only (if you only want to increase the text size). Click View again, then Zoom and then Zoom In to increase the text size. There are also options to Zoom Out or Actual Size.
- Third way. Click the icon that looks like a gear, then select Preferences. Click the Appearance tab and you can adjust the standard font settings by clicking the Select... You can change the font and the size. Once you are done close out of this window (your settings will automatically be saved). You can also adjust the minimum font size for all webpages by going to the Advanced tab and in the Universal Access section clicking the box next to "Never use font sizes smaller than" and entering in the size of the font you want to be the default size for the smallest fonts. Your settings will automatically be saved which means you can close out of this window and return to your browser.
