Have you heard about blogs and always wanted to create one but don't know how or what to say on your blog? It's easy to set one up on the Society's Discussion Boards.

1. After you log into http://community.lls.org/, click on New, then under Create New Content, select Blog Post. You'll see that a subject line has already been created for you but you're free to change it. Some tips about subject lines:

  • Make it interesting and short.

  • Avoid using punctuation marks and initials, so that all visitors will understand the subject of your blog.

2. Every blog has a unique web site address. This is the address that people will enter into their web browser to view your blog. All blogs associated with the Society's Discussion Boards have the address http://community.lls.ortg/blogs/xxxxxxx. Depending on how you plan to use your blog, you can fill in the last portion of the address might be your name, your company's name, a nickname or a phrase that captures the idea of your blog. For example, if you enter "matt," your blog address would be http://community.lls.org/blogs/matt

3. Enter the information for your blog. Keep the description to 255 characters or less. If your blog is longer than 250 characters, you will see an error message when you click on the "Create Blog" button.

  • Shorter blogs will likely be ready more often than longer ones.

  • Keep each entry short and update your blog often

  • Post a list of things that you like or don't like.

  • Send an email to your friends asking them to read your blog.

I would like to know how I can share my blog on Facebook - is there a "share" link or the like?
