Sorry but I had to chuckle when you mentioned the hiccoughs. I had them too but not just after the push. They just wouldn't go away. Now I remember them with humor. But at the time they drove me to distraction.

I don't remember asking about meds for them but I think my doc would've given me something if they had them. But that was nearly six years ago. They might have something now. It never hurts to ask the docs.

My doc mentioned a transplant in almost the same paragraph as she told me I had leukemia. So from my experience it wasn't unusual. However, my doc knew that my particular dx was going to lead to relapse and require a transplant.

Still, if you're talking about things like testing siblings, I do think that's a pretty common step with all AML patients. I can't think what else they could be doing to prep for transplant at the moment. So, I wouldn't worry much about that.

I know this forum is about treatment but it's not necessarily that well read. If you'd ask these questions in the AML forum, you'd probably get more answer.

Blessings

Because if not, your ped can give you an RX for it to supplement. I only say because the chemo hasn't affect our child's teeth (yet) -- he didn't have teeth when treatment started -- but our ped did say we should have him on a supplement. Other than that, I don't know what you could do.

It seems to have attacked the red cells. I've had 2 blood transfusions [3rd tomorrow]. The Hgb count goes up a pt then drops. It seems that it's a waiting game for the drug to stop its attacks. Best idea- keep up with transfusions; I'm told it will resolve in time. Best wishes.

So I was soon to be in menopause anyway.

I heard for younger women, chemo can put you into a kind of temporary menopause, but eventually your cycle will come back. But I can see where it might be crazy for a good while. WBF had a good suggestion, maybe asking female oncology nurses....hope it gets more regular!

Pam

My Husband was DX with NHL in July, 2007. He went thru RCHOP, lost his hair, finished that in Dec, 2007, and just finished his 3rd round of maintenance Rituxin. For the last 2-3 months his hair has been falling out. All over is body not just his head. Has anyone else experienced this? He will see his ONC in Dec. Curious to know what you think??????? THANKS!
