Team in Training fundraising

I'm looking to create a Facebook Cause page for LLS so I can spread the word of what I'm trying to do with TNT. How do ensure that any donations made on the cause page goes to my Team in Training fundraising page so I can reach my goal sooner?

The accounting firm I work with is making a $50,000 donation - vote for LLS!

As part of our year-long event to honor our 50th anniversary, HORNE has announced its "$50,000 for 50 Years" contest. This program was developed as a way to honor our team members by supporting the causes they care most about. We hope to bring awareness to the charities that HORNE team members believe in and support.

HORNE employees nominated more than 30 nonprofit organizations with five finalists being selected to participate in the online vote.

Finalists are:

The American Cancer Society (Mid-South Division)

The Exchange Club-Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse

Friends of Children's Hospital

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Ronald McDonald House Charities

The winner will receive $50,000 in honor of our 50 years, and will be selected through an online vote which is open to the public August 27-September 26.

The winner of the online vote will be announced on October 1, HORNE's 50th anniversary, and receive a check from HORNE in the amount of $50,000.

This winter season makes 20 season's of my coaches Barry and Michele coaching with TNT, I wish with all my heart that I was able to run Disney with them this year. But I will be on the other side of the world. Coaches are so very special, they give more love than anyone, they run longer, they get up earlier. So many times I had reached my wall during a Marathon and thought ( God Give me just enough energy to make it to the finish) Then I would see Michele or Barry with a big smile right in front of me. It was like they knew when I would need them. They are more than heroes they are Angels from heaven.

I remember the first time I went to joined TNT, Barry talked about why he does this and it changed my life.

Hi Name is Ken,

I am with the TNT Team in Melbourne FL., I work out of country allot but I love my Team and what they stand for. God bless you all!

The first year I joined Team in Training was in 2005 to raise money by running the 26.2 run (the Disney World Marathon). It was because my sister Karan called me and let me know she had Leukemia, I did not know what to do to help; I tried to become a donor but was not able to, then I learned about Team In Training (TNT) and how they raise money to help people with leukemia and the research to fined a cure, then I joined. And it was painful but with the help of the coaches I made it.

Then the second year I was not going to do it again but Karan had a fall back, so I jump on a flight back home to see her on 17 June 2006 and she ask me if I was going to do it again. I promised I would and 10 hours later she died.

She finally got to see me run with all the angels in heaven. They must have had a good laugh a 243 lb man running 26.2 miles, but I made it again this time with the help of my cusin Carla and her daughter two angels from Michagan. Again the pain I made it and we raised $3000.00 with the help allot of people giving what ever they could.

This year I found myself with a work schedule that would not let me run it, so I said (well I can’t). Then one night while I was running I was thinking about Karan and I thought I heard something, it was like god was talking to me. It said Karan is gone, But what about all the others? All the others out there with blood cancer are you going to not do something for them, what about the little kids.

So I called my manager and he told me we would work it out so I could have the time off to run for the others and that is why I am it again and again that others may live.

My name is Angie, and I just signed up with TNT and am doing the Bass Lake Tri. I completed my first triathlon in sept 2011 at lake tahoe, and thought this would be an amazing opportunity to raise money for an amazing cause, while keeping me motivated. Is there anyone in 29 Palms, CA who trains, or would like to train with me?

How was your WDW 2012 marathon's experience?

It was an amazing experience for me. It was my first marathon - the half on Saturday. I had made 5k or 10k only. Our coaches were awesome, with a lot of discipline. Walking and running with people in wheelchairs, senior citizens, whole families, blind persons, people with lack of extremities and some for their personal causes was so inspirational. A lot of unknowns cheering you up was impressive. It was a little hard to achieve my fundraising goal because I started at the end of September but when you arrives at the finish line, it was priceless. Thanks to all of the support since the beginning, during and thru the finish line of the half marathon. We made it. LO HICIMOS ! Go Team, Puerto Rico !!!

Just wanted to introduce myself

Hi,

My name is Kelli Sellers. I am very new to TNT but wanted to introduce myself and tell everyone why I joined TNT. I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in July 2008. I went through chemotherapy treatment through the end of 2008 and was cancer free until October 2010 when I was re-diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I again went through chemotherapy treatment and most recently received a Bone Marrow Transplant at Stanford Hospital in February of 2011. I am currently cancer free, and I have wanted to do something to show my appreciation to everyone who supported me during the last few years and acknowledge the millions of individuals who support others in fighting this horrible disease. I also wanted to show my support for the millions of individuals who are continuing to receive treatment and fight for their lives every single day.

I will be in training the next 6-months to participate in the TNT Marathon event being held in San Luis Obispo, California on April 22, 2012. I have personal goals to:

1. Finish my training;

2. Raise $4000 for LLS; and

3. Finish the marathon.
