The Nike Women’s Marathon San Francisco is a celebration of the power of women coming together through the shared passion of taking on a physical challenge while also taking aim at cancer.
This past weekend marked the 10th annual Nike Women’s Marathon San Francisco. Among the more than 30,000 participants from around the world were 2,900 members of LLS’s Team In Training, who raised more than $9 million to help LLS find cures for blood cancers and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
To date, through LLS’s Nike partnership, TNT participants have raised more than $143 million.
One of those TNT participants, Lois Markovich, is a 20+-year survivor of chronic lymphocytic leukemia. She is also a dedicated member of the Greater Bay Area team, having participated in 10 Nike races, and is unfailingly among the top ten in fundraisers for Nike every year; this year was no different. In fact, Lois was a team captain for a special 10th Anniversary NWM team this year, consisting of all honored heroes. Combined the team raised $120,000! Go Lois! Go Team!
TNT is recruiting now for another great Nike event, the Nike Women's Marathon Half DC.
