In celebration of winning their titles of Man & Woman of the Year for the New York City Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Erin Zammett Ruddy and Manu Nathan will be ringing the NASDAQ closing bell today at 4 p.m. They will be joined by LLS President and CEO John Walter, NYC Executive Director Michele Przypyszny, NYC Boy of the Year Justice Wexler Kariher, and other chapter staff and guests of the honorees.
The event will be streamed outside on the NASDAQ Video Tower as will an LLS video. The event will also be distributed to other news stations.
Zammett Ruddy, who sits on the New York City Chapter board, is a ten-year survivor of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML), and a journalist who chronicled her cancer experience as a columnist for Glamour magazine. Nathan is an associate counsel at IMG, and an avid Team In Training participant.
Both vied for the titles during a spirited competition in which the candidates are judged solely on their success in raising money to help LLS fund research to find cures and better therapies for cancer, and provide information and support to blood cancer patients and their families. The title of national Man & Woman of the Year will be announced in early July.
